Discover the convenience of visa-free travel to Malaysia for Indian citizens!
Good news for Indians ! As of December 2023 , Indian passport holders can travel to Malaysia visa-free for up to 30 days but they must complete a MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card) form before arriving in Malaysia at least 3 days prior. This is valid until December 2024 as of now.
What is MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card) for Indians ?
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is an online form required as part of Malaysia’s Visa Liberalization Plan. Starting January 1, 2024, most foreign travelers visiting Malaysia must fill out the MDAC prior to arrival. You can register for the MDAC here.
You don’t need a MDAC if you belong to any of the following :
- Indonesia Cross-Border Travel Document (PLB) holders
- General Certificate of Identity (GCI) Brunei Darussalam holders
- Diplomatic and Official passport holders
- Citizens of Singapore
- Malaysian Permanent Residents and Long Term-Pass holders
- Thailand Border Pass holders
- Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveler Facility holders
Requirements of Visa-Free Travel to Malaysia for Indian Citizens
- The Passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
- Have confirmed return flight tickets or towards next destination within the 30 days.
- Confirmed proof of accommodation
- Proof of financial sustenance throughout the trip. Must have least 50 USD per day for each stay in Malaysia.
- Register for the MDAC form at least 3 days prior to visiting to Malaysia. You can register for the MDAC here.

How to submit MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card) online?
- Start your application: Indians should go to the official government website https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main and click on “register” to begin the application process.
- Fill out the online form: Complete the application form online by entering your passport and flight ticket details.
- Await confirmation email: Submit your application and wait for an acknowledgement email. This email will include a PIN that you’ll need to access your MDAC. Make sure to copy this PIN.
- Verify your registration: Go to the “Check registration” section on the website and enter the required information along with your unique PIN.
- Review application details: The registration page will display your application details and the MDAC slip.
- Download your MDAC: Look for the PDF icon to download your MDAC.
- Print your MDAC: Print the downloaded PDF version of your MDAC to present upon entry into Malaysia.
